Prof. Dieter Crumbiegel studied painting with Prof. Fritz Winter and Marie-Louise von Rogister and ceramics with Walter Popp (HfBK Kassel). He is artistically active mainly in the field of modern ceramics.
In 1974 Crumbiegel was awarded the State Prize of the State of Rheinland-Pfalz and in 1975 the 1st prize in the competition "German Contemporary Ceramics".
In addition, the artist lectures as professor at the Hochschule Niederrhein in Krefeld, returning to painting in 1984.
