Heinrich Everz (1882-1967)
As a draftsman and wood engraver, Heinrich Everz traveled through the various landscapes of North Rhine-Westphalia with their towns and villages. His motifs give the image of a bygone era that we rarely find today.
He drew the old houses, water castles, quiet alleys and romantic corners, but also the emerging industry and captured the fading image in the black and white of his
woodcuts.
His great concern was the loss of contact of people with nature, the alienation of the landscape, in which he saw an uprooting of man.
