In the last decade of his life (1960s and 70s) Picasso devoted himself increasingly to delicate, small-format still lifes and the interior of his penultimate domicile, the "Villa Californie" in southern France.
Pablo Picasso (1881-1973) was a Spanish painter, graphic artist and sculptor who created around 50,000 works during his lifetime - in addition to paintings, drawings, graphics, collages, sculptures and ceramics.
In 1892, he was admitted to the art school in Malaga, his birthplace, where art has a centuries-old tradition.
After finishing high school, he transferred to the art academy in Barcelona, then to the renowned San Fernando Academy in Madrid. But above all, Picasso drew inspiration from other artists in museums, salons and studios.
At the beginning of the 20th century, Picasso went to Paris, where he came into contact with the art scene of the French art metropolis.
Picasso became one of the most expensive artists of the 20th century - co-founder of Cubism, furthermore creator of figurative, classicist, symbolic, surrealist and abstract works.
