The COVID-19 pandemic or corona (virus) pandemic has determined our lives in a globalized world since the first 'lockdown'. It is already considered the most important pandemic of the 21st century (as of March 2021: 2,692,806 deaths worldwide related to the virus) with a wide variety of effects on the economy, health care and social and cultural coexistence.

During this time, new normalities, impressions and sensations shape social coexistence and prevent the basic human need to be together. The vaccine, honored in a frame behind glass, is raised as an object to an artistic level of meaning in which social processes are negotiated. It shows us the creativity and the will of human cooperation and at the same time stands for the fragility of hope and confidence - a field of tension in which social norms tilt and become changeable.

Robin Waldhausen is a surgeon and was given one of the first BioNTech / Pfizer vaccinations in February 2021: "When I held the first vaccine vial in my hands, I realized that I was about to become part of the Corona era, a turning point in our recent history. "

Malte Wessel is a software engineer and is interested in aesthetic image processes. Artistic role models are Banksy and Keith Haring, who take up social processes and phenomena in their works and return them to the viewer, aesthetically illuminated, often in a humorous and ironic way.
