After her education at Leiden University Lucrees van Groningen followed her passion in photography. She turns her images in handcrafted photographic prints with the use of 19th century techniques, which results in unique prints on beautiful cotton rag paper. The great thing about photography, for her, is that it helps to see the world around you. Sometimes you see things more clearly when they are in a picture; everyday scenes become special. The world around us is full of still lifes worth keeping. By choosing gum printing as her technique she relives the pictures and turns them into unique objects. The combination of these banal pictures with such a difficult technique turns them into a very personal gallery.
