- Because of the sun they have closed their eyes so they do not notice that they are being watched.
- The open attitude of the women expresses confidence.
- They enjoy the sun and each other without fear of what is going on around them.
- The image is figurative and executed in a loose touch, while there is still a certain amount of body tension.
- The statue is darkly patinated after which a part has been treated with wax and a part has been left untreated.
- This creates a subtle difference in finish.
Born on 13 July 1951 in Oldebroek.
In June 1995 graduated as a teacher drawing and painting at the Hogeschool Windesheim in Zwolle.
