The sculpture consists of three portraits of women. The work is based on the theme “figure in space”.
It represents people who are looking for intimacy, but also freedom and space.
The women enjoy the first spring sun and have fun with each other.
Because of the sun they have closed their eyes so they do not notice that they are being watched.
The open attitude of the women expresses confidence.
They enjoy the sun and each other without fear of what is going on around them.
The image is figurative and executed in a loose touch, while there is still a certain amount of body tension.
The statue is darkly patinated after which a part has been treated with wax and a part has been left untreated.
This creates a subtle difference in finish.

Born on 13 July 1951 in Oldebroek.
In June 1995 graduated as a teacher drawing and painting at the Hogeschool Windesheim in Zwolle.
Besides architectural, drawing teacher and autonomous artist.
